30 Unique Things to do in Downtown Knoxville

You might not know that I grew up in Tennessee. I don’t spend a lot of time talking about it on my blog. Mostly because I started my blog after I moved to Seattle. But also because I’ve taken my hometown for granted. Sure, Knoxville, Tennessee isn’t as glamorous as New York or London. It’s not even the most well-known city in Tennessee (Nashville and Memphis are fighting for that top spot). But, there are still plenty of hidden gems in Knoxville worth exploring. I was recently back in Tennessee for a friend’s wedding and I spent a day in downtown Knoxville. I noticed so many local restaurants, boutiques, and…

NYC at Christmas Time: A Self-Guided Walking Tour of the City’s MOST Festive Sites

I don’t know about you, but I completely relate to Buddy the Elf when I think about NYC at Christmas time. We loved watching the Broadway performances and listening to the announcers spit off random facts about the floats. Seeing the parade in person has been on my bucket list for as long as I can remember. Once I moved to NYC, I made this dream a reality. Last year, I battled the cold and finally experienced the parade in real life! I absolutely loved watching the parade in person, but I had to be prepared. It’s…

How to Celebrate Christmas in Seattle

The most wonderful time of the year is here! As I’m writing this, I’m sipping a peppermint mocha and blasting Christmas music. I love this festive season so I had to create another holiday themed-post. Today I’m focusing on my favorite city in the Pacific North West: Seattle! I only lived in Seattle for 8-months and I am so glad I was there for the Christmas season. Let me tell you, Seattle really gets into the spirit. Maybe it’s their way of dealing with the dismal, grey days of the season. Whatever the reason, I’m glad Seattle knows how to celebrate the holidays. When I lived there, I went to…
