5 Beautiful Cities in Spain to Give You Serious Wanderlust

Every time I’ve visited Spain I’ve been blown away. The culture, food, and landscape of this country keep me coming back. I’ve taken 3 separate trips to Spain and each time I’ve discovered something new I love about this country.

I had trouble narrowing down this list, but these are the 5 cities I’ve loved most in Spain. They are gorgeous and diverse. If you are looking for some wanderlust inspiration, check out these 5 beautiful cities in Spain.

Granada

5 Beautiful Cities in Spain to Give You Serious Wanderlust- The Adventuring Millennial

Granada sits on the foothills of the gorgeous Sierra Nevada Mountains. I’ve never been somewhere quite this charming. From the orange-roofed buildings to the incredible Moorish architecture, Granada quickly captured my heart. I could stroll through this city’s winding, cobblestone streets for hours. Granada is most known for the Alhambra, an impressive 13th-century Moorish palace and fortress.

Madrid

Spain’s capital is filled with elegant buildings and well-manicured parks. Buen Retiro is the city’s main park, which offers a large lake for row-boating and plenty of space to relax or picnic. Find a rooftop bar (there are plenty in the city) and enjoy the sweeping views from above. Don’t miss a stop at Chocolatería San Ginés to try the incredible churros and chocolate that visitors have enjoyed since the 19th century.

Barcelona

Barcelona sits on the Mediterranean Sea and provides plenty of coastline for sunbathing. There are many important historic sites in the city, including the still unfinished Sagrada Familia. Walk the along the tree-lined Las Ramblas and take in the city’s charm and stunning architecture. For an incredible view, make your way to the top of the Columbus Monument for 360-degree views of the sprawling city below.

Palma de Mallorca

Palma de Mallorca is the capital of the island of Mallorca. This Mediterranean island is a popular getaway destination. Enjoy the city’s laid-back pace and incredible beaches. Here you can also visit the impressive 13th century Santa María cathedral. Or, explore the Almudaina, a historic Moorish fortress and palace.

Seville

Seville is a beautiful city in Spain’s Andalusia region. This city is synonymous with flamenco, so don’t miss your chance to enjoy this unique dance while you are in town. The beautiful Gothic style Sevilla Cathedral is one of the most impressive religious buildings I’ve ever visited. Find a cafe with outdoor seating and enjoy the city’s relaxed charm over a cup of cafe con leche.

I hope you enjoyed this list of 5 beautiful cities in Spain. Are you feeling some wanderlust inspiration? Where do you want to go?
